If you’re interested in learning more about the culinary arts, drop us a line! Whether you’re just starting out or looking for some advanced techniques, we offer a wide range of constantly changing classes.

Classes can be hosted in the comfort of your own home, or at One Life Kitchen in Barrington. All supplies, equipment, and related materials are provided.

Classes are not on a pre-set schedule – you choose the date you’d like. Booking is currently open through the end of April 2025.

 

2025 Winter/Spring Classes

  • Molecular Gastronomy – Learn techniques such as Spherification (encapsulate flavors into bubbles that burst in your mouth), Emulsification (create colorful foams that intensify aromas), and Gelification (sculpt flavors into tasty pearls, raviolis, or spaghetti).

  • Culinary Artistry – Become versed in professional techniques to showcase and elevate your food, including sauces, garnishes, and plate balance.

  • Fresh Pasta – How to use a pasta machine, make foolproof pasta dough, fillings, and sauces.

  • The Science of Cooking – Gain a deeper understanding of the physics and chemistry that takes place in the kitchen.

  • Food and Wine – Discover how to play with food and wine pairings, and learn how to develop a tasting menu of your own.

  • Professional Pizza Making – Become a master. This class covers dough making, sauces, specialty pizzas, along with a few fun tricks to impress family and guests.

  • The Gourmet Diet – Master whatever eating plan you have and leave tasteless food behind as we learn how to maximize flavors without cheating on your diet (diet specified by class participant).
